Get ready to cut loose!

We’re thrilled to bring the 80’s smash hit musical, FOOTLOOSE to the Engadine stage in October 2025.

Based on the classic 1984 movie starring Kevin Bacon… this electrifying musical tells the story of Ren, a city kid forced to move to the small buttoned-up town of Bomont, where dancing is banned! Determined as the one kid in town who just can’t stand still, he teams up with new friends to challenge the town’s outdated rules. Footloose is a feel-good ride about fighting for what you love and dancing like nobody’s watching!

The Oscar and Tony-nominated Top 40 score features epic 80’s bangers including "Holding out for a Hero", "Almost Paradise", “Let’s Hear it for the Boy” and of course, "Footloose".

In the spirit of reconciliation Engadine Musical Society acknowledges the Dharawal people as the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we perform and gather. We recongise the Dharawal people’s continuing connection to the land, the sea and the community. We pay our respect to the Elders both past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today. We acknowledge the First Peoples of Australia as the first storytellers. May their stories and songlines continue to flow through this country.
